Things are starting to settle down here, now. Mom is getting used to being in the cottage by herself. We have moved some of her own furniture, etc in and will get more out of storage when we can.
This is the first time in her life that she has ever lived by herself and especially sleeping alone. She is getting along great and feeling the best she has since a couple of years before she got sick. Praise God!

We are hoping that the divorce and property settlement will come through soon and she will finally be in control of her finances. It has been a year since we have been going through this trauma.

Prayers are very much appreciated.

Praise God! Ruth is now in the arms of Jesus and with the rest of our departed loved ones. She was somewhat conscious in the end and although she wasn’t able to talk, we talked to her, loved on her,
and told her how much she meant to us. I made it as clear as I could what she and Nora Lee had done for me and my 2 siblings and how much she had shaped our lives and given us so many sweet memories. She tried to say something and if it was what she always did when I would tell her and NL such things, it was, “We did it because we wanted to.” We had her Elvis Gospels playing in the background and he was singing “If We Ever Meet Again This Side of Heaven,” and then she went. It was about 8:10.

If I can have my say when the service will be, it will be Friday, at the grave site in Bethel. Family members only as she wished.

Love, Pam

Ruth is awake today for a change. She is trying to tell us things and it must be so frustrating to her that we don’t understand what she is saying. I hate to think she is scared. That is my biggest concern for her. I don’t want her to be afraid.

The nurse will be here sometime today and will bring us some mouth swabs now that she cannot swallow. I hope that will be a comfort to her. These Robarts are tough! and it’s tough to watch.

More later when I know something else.

TODAY THE HOSPICE DOCTOR CAME TO SEE RUTH. SHE HAS ORDERED MEDS THAT CAN BE ABSORBED INTO HER SKIN OR HER MOUTH AS SHE ISN’T SWALLOWING MOST OF THE TIME. SHE LOOKS VERY EMACIATED BUT IS RESTING AND SEEMS PEACEFUL.
I PRAY GOD WILL TAKE HER SOON AND SHE CAN GO TO HER MUCH DESERVED REST AND REWARD. (I’M SURE NORA LEE WILL BE THE FIRST ONE TO GREET HER AND RUB IT IN THAT SHE BEAT HER TO HEAVEN.) THEY MIGHT EVEN HUG AND KISS EACH OTHER WHICH WILL PROBABLY BE THE FIRST TIME IN THEIR EXISTENCE.
WHAT A GREAT PAIR THEY WERE.

LOVE TO ALL,
PAM

Dear Family and Friends,

In the last 24 hours Ruth has taken a definite turn for the worse.
She is having quite a bit more pain and the nurse is keeping her
as medicated as possible to keep her comfortable.

Her organs are beginning to shut down, especially her kidneys and
she is running a steady fever. I could tell a big difference in the way her face looked this morning as opposed to when I left the cottage last night.

Please pray that she will be comfortable and have a peaceful passing.

Love,
Pam

The last few days have not been good on Ruth. She is growing much weaker and it is obvious her organs are starting to shut down.
Today she has not wanted food or drink. Thankfully, she is not in the horrible stomach pain that we were told to expect. My prayer is that her wonderful spirit will ‘glide’ out of her worn out body before that happens so she won’t have to suffer that. Tomorrow the Hospice nurse will be here to check on her so we will know more.

Ruth has had another fairly good day and asked me to go get her some chicken fingers tonight around 8 pm. She can’t really eat them very well and they will probably upset her stomach, but what the heck! If she wants a pack of cigarettes and bottle of whiskey I will get it for her.

does anyone in the family have any information about our family plots at Bethel cemetery? The NEW trustees are trying to charge us for what is already ours. I would appreciate any information about this. (where is NL when you need her?)
